Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (K-TECH), BMTC Building, TTMC ‘B’ Block, 4th Floor, K.H. Road, Shanthinagar, Bengaluru- 560 027 has invited programs for admission to the various BioTEch Job Oriented Courses offered with the aid of it for Life Science college students underneath the Biotechnology Skill Enhancement program (BiSEP) of the department of IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka and the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India conducted in collaboration with LSSSDC, CSIR-IICT, and ABLE.
The Biotechnology Skill Enhancement Programme (BiSEP) aims to teach and empower human resources to bridge the biotech industry and academia gap.
Courses: Courses Offered to encompass Bioinformatics & Big Data Analytics, Biopharmaceutical Technology, Cellular & Molecular Diagnostics, Clinical Research & Data Management, Fermentation & Bioprocessing, Multi-OMICS Technology, Nutraceuticals & Food Processing, Plant Genetic Engineering, and Protein Expression & Scale-up.
Course length: The course period is twelve months, divided into two semesters. 1st semester constitutes 6 months of schoolroom gaining knowledge via interplay with BiSEP college and professionals from Academia / Industry. 2d Semester constitutes an Internship of 6 months in a Company / Institution relevant to the chosen concern region. A Fellowship of Rs supports the program. 10,000/- pm according to the candidate decided on.
Eligibility: Applicant should maintain M.Sc. In Biotech/Microbiology / Biochemistry/ Bioinformatics or any other Life Sciences related courses or B.E./ B.Tech (Biotech / Bioinformatics) or B.Pharma/ B.Sc. (Agri) / B.V.Sc or any 4-year diploma publications in Life Science and topics with minimum 50% marks within the qualifying degree exam (40% for college kids belonging to SC/ST categories).
Reservation/Concessions: 50% of the seats are reserved for Resident college students of Karnataka. There are 20 seats in each institute, of which 10 seats are reserved for Resident Students of Karnataka and 10 seats for Students from other states. Reservations below OBCs/SC/ST and Hyderabad – Karnataka place are also supplied.
Selection: Selection may be through an internet front check, ‘Karnataka Biotechnology Aptitude Test’ (K-BAT), and Counselling. This is an internet exam of 1-hour duration that can be taken from anywhere with a Laptop/Desktop pc having the right internet connectivity and continuous energy delivery. KBAT targets to test essential and implemented aspects of Biology alongside logical reasoning, trendy English, primary Mathematics, and Computer Science. KBAT includes a complete hundred more than one desired question from General English; General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, General Mathematics, Computer Science, Immunology, Cell Biology, Genetics (five questions from each topic); Biochemistry; Microbiology; Analytical Techniques; Molecular Biology, Animal Biotechnology; Plant Biotechnology (10 questions each).
A final benefit listing may be generated thinking about 50% of Entrance Test marks + 50 % marks of the qualifying exam. Those from OBC and widespread category, securing no less than 50% marks, and people from SC/ST categories securing 40% marks can be called for Counselling and Seat Allotment to choose their area and Institute based on the availability of area and institute.
Course Fee: The fee is Rs.50,000/- in keeping with a pupil except for exam charges, if any. The resident students of Karnataka joining the direction below BiSEP must pay Rs.25,000/- handiest as path price. A balance of Rs.25,000/- may be paid to host institutes by K-Tech on submission of a prescribed set of files.
Hostel facilities: Those admitted to the route will be considered for hostel lodging according to guidelines and guidelines of the concerned BiSEP Host Institutes subject to the availability of such facility. Allotment of a seat would no longer make sure automatic allotment of hostel lodging and that the same will be offered situation to its availability most effective.

KBAT Online Exam will be on 9th & 10th August 2019. Results could be introduced on the 17th or 19th of August 2019. Counseling and Seat Allotment Sessions will be held in Bengaluru on the 12th & thirteenth of September 2019. Orientation could be hung on 1.10.2019. The course commences on 1.10.2019.
